# Paying for a server in crypto.

What happens between pressing pay and getting root, which coin to choose and why it matters more than people expect, and the four mistakes that lose money on a first payment.

The short answer

- **What you need:** A wallet with the coin in it. No exchange account, no card, no bank
- **How long:** One confirmation. Minutes on most chains, and then root in under 5 minutes
- **The rate:** Fixed at the moment the invoice is issued, and held for the payment window
- **The commonest mistake:** Sending the right coin on the **wrong network**. USDT exists on several, and they are not interchangeable

## How it works

Nothing exotic. Every order produces its own address, you send the exact amount to it, and the machine provisions on the first confirmation. There is no account balance to top up, no card on file, and nothing to cancel with a bank the day you leave.

### 1. Configure

Pick the machine, the site and the term. The price is fixed in USD and includes everything — no setup fee, no bandwidth, no storage line.

### 2. Choose a coin

The USD amount is converted at the rate at that moment. You get one address, for your order alone, and the amount to send.

### 3. Send and wait

The page watches the chain. One confirmation is enough. Nothing needs to stay open — the state is on the invoice, not in your browser tab.

### 4. Root

SSH details, IPMI details and the network block, under 5 minutes after the confirmation — at any hour, because none of it involves a person.

## Which coin to use

All 8 below work equally well for us. They do not work equally well for *you*, and the difference is mostly fees and confirmation time.

**Accepted coins, network, and what each is good for**

| Tether (TRC-20) USDTTRC | TRC-20 | ~1–3 min | The usual recommendation: stable value, low fee, fast. Check the network carefully. |
| Litecoin LTC | Litecoin | ~5–15 min | A cheap, boring, reliable transfer. Underrated for exactly that reason. |
| TRON TRX | TRON | ~1–3 min | You already operate on Tron and hold TRX rather than Tether. |
| Solana SOL | Solana | < 1 min | The fastest and cheapest of the list. Ideal for a first small order. |

**If you have no strong preference: a stablecoin on a cheap chain.** The amount you owe is in USD, so paying in a stablecoin removes the exchange-rate question entirely, and a low-fee network removes the second one. It is also the combination least likely to leave you short by a few cents — see the underpayment trap below.

## Step by step

1. **Configure the machine.** Card, data centre, term, operating system, and the account details the invoice needs. No identity document at any point, and no verification tier however large the order.
2. **Set your own root password.** We never generate it, we never hold it in the clear, and we cannot reset it for you. Put it in a password manager *before* you continue.
3. **Pick a coin.** The USD total is converted at the rate at that instant, and the payment page shows the exact amount and the address.
4. **Check the network before sending.** The page names it explicitly. This is the step that costs people money — read the next section.
5. **Send the exact amount**, in one transaction, from a wallet you control.
6. **Wait for one confirmation.** The page updates itself; you can also close it and come back. The invoice reference is the thing to keep.
7. **Root arrives.** under 5 minutes later, in one message, whatever the hour.

## Four expensive mistakes

### The wrong network

Tether exists on Ethereum and on Tron, among others. They are different chains with different addresses. Sending TRC-20 Tether to an ERC-20 address does not arrive late — it does not arrive.

**Avoid it:** the payment page names the network next to the address. Match it in your wallet's dropdown before you press send, every time.

### Underpaying by the fee

Some wallets deduct the network fee *from* the amount you typed. The invoice then sits short by a fraction and does not confirm, which looks exactly like a payment that vanished.

**Avoid it:** send the exact amount shown and let the wallet add its fee on top. If yours cannot, add a little — an overpayment is refunded, an underpayment stalls.

### Paying in several transactions

Splitting the amount across two sends means the invoice sees two underpayments rather than one payment, and each has to be reconciled by hand.

**Avoid it:** one invoice, one transaction. If you genuinely cannot, tell us the invoice reference first.

### Letting the window expire

The rate is held for a fixed window. Send after it closes and the amount no longer matches the invoice, so the transaction has to be reconciled manually against a rate that has moved.

**Avoid it:** generate the invoice when you are ready to pay, not an hour before. A new one costs nothing.

**If something goes wrong, we can fix it — but only with the transaction hash.** Keep the invoice reference and the transaction ID. With both, an underpayment, a late payment or a payment to an expired invoice is a solvable problem. Without them, we are looking for an anonymous transaction on a public chain, and that is a much worse conversation.

## The rate and the window

The price of a server is a USD price. Crypto is how it is paid, not what it is denominated in.

When the rate is set When the invoice is issued Not when you send, and not when it confirms. What the market does in between is not your problem.

How long it holds The payment window on the invoice Shown with a countdown on the payment page. Past it, generate a new invoice rather than sending against the old amount.

## What "no KYC" means, precisely

It is a specific claim, not a general vibe, and it is worth being exact about both what it covers and what it does not.

### What we never ask for

- An ID document
- A selfie
- A phone number
- A company registration
- A credit card
- A verification tier
- Proof of address

There is no verification tier either. The largest node opens on the same terms as the cheapest card, at any spend.

### What is nonetheless true

- An invoice needs a billing address. We print exactly what you type and never verify it
- Your machine has a public IP address, and traffic from it is traceable to that address
- Most chains are public ledgers; a payment is not private because it is crypto

In short: no identity check is not the same thing as anonymity, and we would rather say so on this page than let you assume otherwise. If your threat model needs the second, a rented server with a public address is not the tool — whatever it was paid for with.

## Refunds and cancellation

1. **A monthly term stops at the end of the paid month.** No notice period, no cancellation fee. It stops because you do not pay the next one; nothing renews by itself.
2. **Longer terms are paid up front and are not refunded pro rata.** That is the trade you make for the discount, and it is stated before you pay.
3. **If we cannot deliver the machine you paid for, you get the full amount back**, in the coin you sent, to an address you give us.
4. **If the hardware is not what was listed**, tell us in the first day and we swap the node or refund the term. [Verify it on delivery](https://gpuserver.io/docs#verify) — it takes two minutes.
